Note that there are two distinct types of WP&Y containers, the original ~8′ cubical containers that were normally chained down three to a car, and the ~24′ long ISO type containers that replaced the cubes in the latter 1960s. Each of the two general types came in several sub-variations corresponding to the intended commodity, but the differences were not great, mostly a matter of paint and lettering. Examples of three sub-types of cube containers are preserved at the Skagway museum.
